Hi!
My name is Jennie and I run Tangled Ribbons. I started as a teenager, selling at craft fairs and online. I always loved seeing people's faces when they found something I'd made and fell in love with it. I also loved the walks to the post office to send orders out to customers. There is something immensely satisfying about knowing that something you've made brings somebody else joy.
I learnt printmaking in a college course in my early twenties, and immediately felt a connection. I love the practical aspects of it - carving lino prints and mixing colours. I spent my first bonus on a print press and haven't regretted it once.
As the years went on, I became busier and busier with my full time job as an accountant. I began taking exams to become a chartered accountant, and didn't have as much time anymore to make things. I still painted for myself though, and filled an awful lot of sketchbooks with doodles and ideas.
Now, I'm finished with exams, I'm officially a chartered accountant, and I've decided to pick this up again. Luckily, I have years worth of ideas to develop now! I'm excited to begin printing properly again, and looking forward to (hopefully!) a few walks to the post office.
