Each individual blossom is pierced out by hand using a jeweller's saw, and a lot of patience! After extensive filing and sanding to give a lovely smooth edge, the flowers are then soldered onto a silver backplate before being pierced out once again. Another round of filing and sanding takes place, before soldering on the tiny hanging loops to attach the solid silver earring posts to.
Finally the earrings are painstakingly polished, and a tiny amount of oxidation is added to give a sense of depth and to highlight the design.
As you can see they are a labour of love, but so worthwhile!
