Sindy does Spring in style in this pretty sleeveless purple cotton dress. Simple yet effective, the dress is fully-lined in pale pink cotton and fastens at the back with velcro. A pink button adorns the bodice front.

From Xavier and Xenobia's Spring 2012 collection Ice Cream Wars, the dress also fits Barbie and other similarly-proportioned 11.5 fashion dolls. Limited edition - only five of these dresses have been sewn!

I came up with this pattern after I had some leftover bodices from dresses I'd sewn before Christmas. I decided to sew the bodices to simple skirts to come up with a different look - and when I tried the dresses on Sindy I thought the style really suited her. Sindy is a girl of the 70s and the saucy, skimpy clothing that today's fashion dolls often come dressed in look misplaced on her. I was so pleased when my auntie gave me this purple cotton fabric - I knew it would make into simple yet effective dresses for Sindy, our girl of the 70s, and any other fashion doll who wants to channel style!
