As with all of my pieces, I draw inspiration from my ancestors. I've been lucky enough to inherit my great-great Grandmothers crocheted lap blanket, a piece that has stood the test of time (90 plus years) first hand proof that if a handmade item is cared for it will last many generations. My 3/4 length sleeve cardigan is inspired by the granny stitch used in the lap blanket a stitch that is designed to be breathable yet keep you warm.
