A Native American medicine bag (festival bag or pixie purse) made from hand spun art yarn.
A medicine bag is used to hold sacred medicines and items which are then used in everyday life and in indigenous ceremonies.

Also great for coins and small personal items whilst at a festival or whilst collecting small items in nature. Can be worn around the neck or over the shoulder.

The art yarn used to make these lovely little bags is hand spun using a variety of different fibres: wool, sari silk, wool locks, plant fibres, and a bit of sparkle. Hand blended and carded into art batts and then spun into art yarn.

The bag has a handmade wooden button also made by myself, from fallen branches from my local woodland.

Length around neck: approx 43cm from neck to top of bag.

This bag also has long and short tassels on the bottom and on the flap of the bag, and the handle contains sari ribbon. There are black wool locks throughout the design. OOAK.

I have tried to represent the colours as well as possible. However different screens can display different colours.
